The Coffs Harbour City Council has rejected the NSW government's current draft master plan for the city's Jetty Foreshore Precinct.
A motion put forward by the mayor Paul Amos was successful at this week's council meeting, getting up by six votes to three.
The draft master plan for the jetty revitalisation was unveiled last month, with community feedback submissions to close this coming Monday.
Councillor Amos said he believed the plan ignored a majority of residents who had already expressed they wanted to keep as much public open space as possible.
